How do I access Ellucian Colleague (Datatel) from off-campus?

Notes: 

To access Colleague you must have an Ellucian Colleague (Datatel) account.  You must be connected to the Virtual Private Network via GlobalProtect.

Answer:

  1. Open the GlobalProtect software from your start menu.  GlobalProtect is installed on all SUNY Erie computers.  
  2. If the GlobalProtect client asks you for a portal, enter vpn.ecc.edu   Otherwise, click Enable and login with your SUNY Erie credentials, using only your SUNY Erie username as the username and not your full email address.
  3. Once connected to GlobalProtect, open a browser (Google Chrome is recommended) and navigate to https://datatelweb.ecc.edu and login to your account with your Colleague/Datatel credentials.

The Enterprise Resource Planning (Colleague) service offering includes the development, maintenance and administration of the Ellucian Colleague system. This system previously provided the College's core business processes. Currently, most of the processes have been migrated over to Workday and Colleague is only necessary for historical data.
